The Review of The Clarktones'
Metalution Album

By Bill Tackett, Tri-TEC President and Chief Reviewer

Fellow readers this week's music review will focus on my most recent listening of The Clarktones' album Metalution.  Joe Clark, the lead singer and lyricist, has crafted raw gritty album of metal and pseudo metal tracks. Clark does more than just sing the same old same old you hear from typical metal bands.  He growls and chews at the mic, and sometimes smacks it around.  The album has a variety of styles composed in juxtapositions no one would have tried prior to this breakthrough album.  Moving from various genre including the obligatory rap all couched within a metallic coil, The Clarktones will amaze and delight the listener's psyche!  A particular highlight for me was the ominous sounding The Gate. This surreal master piece is no less about a gate installed between the kitchen to prevent entry by the "Dog."  The ominous echoing of "Pots and Pans" still reverberates within my cranium making me wonder..........why..........I love that song? Yet, I know because it is about a little gate..........we all have our own little gates................Enjoy!
